Paula Thomas

Paula Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from the University of Southern California, a Master of Arts in Education degree from CSU Los Angeles, a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English. She has been a successful public school educator for the past twelve years. Paula began her teaching career in 2004 working with upper grades elementary students in Los Angeles. In 2010, Paula transitioned into the middle school educational setting and has taught in San Francisco and Berkeley. She sought positions and roles that would allow her to best empower young people with the necessary tools, discipline, confidence, and ambition to become successful in their endeavors. These roles helped instill a desire to raise student achievement, a willingness to effectively communicate with all participants in the education process, a commitment to the shared decision-making process and a desire to shape student learning through the lens of a social justice educator.
