Altagracia "Grace" Delgado

Director, Texas Initiatives

Altagracia "Grace" Delgado has devoted 30 years to education, serving as a bilingual teacher, literacy coach, and both a school and central office administrator. A passionate advocate for students in special populations, she collaborates with various organizations to ensure they receive the support and resources they need. Grace serves as a Board Member of the Texas Association for Bilingual Education and an Advisory Board Member for Assessment for Good, a project of the Advanced Education Research & Development Fund, as well as the Houston Christian University’s Women in Leadership Program.

Her expertise has been featured in Education Week, the Seidlitz Education Blog, and the English Learners Success Forum publication Materials Matter: Parity and Quality for Spanish Language Arts. Based in Houston, TX, she most recently served as the Executive Director of Multilingual Services for Aldine ISD.

Grace earned a master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Education and Spanish from the University of Puerto Rico, where she was born and raised. She now resides in Houston, TX, with her husband of 30 years and their three children.
